Evolution and Resolution

“A multinational team of researchers at the site of Jebel Fayka in the United Arab Emirates has gathered evidence that now suggests that groups of Homo sapiens may have migrated from Africa across the southern end of the Arabian Peninsula as early as 125,000 years ago (Archaeology, May/ June 2011).”  This article caught my attention and carried me back some fifty years.  It was in Junior High School, and I listened intently as my teacher expounded the “theory of evolution.”  My father-pastor had previously told me differently, using I Corinthians 15:45 “And so it is written, the first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.”  First means nothing was prior, so Neanderthal and other so-called prehistoric men could not have existed.  Adam was the FIRST man.

I raised my hand and offered: “Paul said Adam was the first man.”  The teacher replied: “Who’s Paul?”

And so it is, ever so often I hear, read, or notice that the ‘theory of evolution’ is still being postulated.  “Professing themselves to be wise they became fools (Romans 1:22).”  “The fool hath said in his heart there is no God (Psalm 14:1).”  It is very foolish to ascribe God’s works of creation to anything or anyone else than the Almighty!

The archaeology article said that Homo beidelbergensis (an extinct species) may be a direct ancestor of both Homo neanderthalensis and Homo sapiens.  “Homo sapiens, Latin for “wise man” or “knowing man”, likely evolved some time around 200,000 years ago.  Homo erectus remained in Africa(Ibid).”

“The scientific study of evolution began in the mid-nineteenth century, when research into the fossil record and the diversity of living organisms convinced most scientists that species evolve.  Charles Darwin and Alfred Wallace, in 1858, proposed the theory of natural selection (Wikipedia).

The resolution of the evolution matter is quite simple.  One has to choose between two distinctly different views: that man was once a single cell but evolved over millions of year to become what he is today; the other is the Bible says that God instantly created man from the dust of the earth.  It is God or scientists.  The law giver penned the creation account because God “made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children ofIsrael(Psalm 103:7).  Through Moses’ words we know exactly what God did on each of the seven days of creation.  This, my friends, is evolution’s resolution!
